Coldridge
We have a variety of guest speakers, garden visits (our own and commercial) and social events. We are not experts but a friendly fun club that promotes all aspects of gardening as a highly enjoyable hobby. It doesn't matter if you have a large garden or a window box, there's something for everyone. New members are warmly welcomed. Fancy joining us? If so, please do get in touch, we'd love to meet you. Full club membership is only £15 per household per year.
In February we were treated to the very knowledgeable and engaging Michael Gee, who explained ‘How Devon Took to Cider’. It turns out that Devon was never, and still isn’t, the cidery powerhouse we all thought, coming in well behind the likes of Herefordshire, Somerset and Worcestershire. Were we surprised? Yes. Were we miffed? A bit. Will we continue to support our very local cider producers? Of course… and I’m sure the rest of Coldridge will continue to do their bit for King and County as long as the Coldridge Arms stocks Sam’s.

March’s meeting celebrates the county flower of Devon - the primrose. Caroline Stone from Glebe Garden in North Cornwall (https://glebegarden.co.uk/) holds National Collection status for double primroses (as well as peonies) with over 70 varieties currently cultivated in Glebe Garden. Find out what it takes to build a national collection on Monday, 9th March at 7.30pm in the Village Hall.. Please see the poster here

Everyone is welcome to join Coldridge Gardening Club - a family membership is only £15 for the year. Keep an eye out for news of upcoming events on all the usual village channels. If you are not (yet!) a member of the Coldridge Gardening Club, and would like to see what it’s all about, please drop us a line on coldridgegardeningclub@ecomail.uk or on our contact page for more details.

Thanking you for your continued confidence and support, the committee looks forward to another action-packed Gardening Club year.
