The Coldridge Gardening Club is a popular club that meets throughout the year. We usually meet on the 2nd Monday evening of each month at 7:30pm in the Coldridge Village Hall.

After taking August off for the holidays, it became apparent that, due to the prolonged heat and dry weather, the Harvest Festival Produce Show (originally 19th Sept) would not be the bountiful vision it was last year. The GC Committee has therefore taken the difficult decision to cancel it for this year as without produce, there’s no show. *There will still be the Harvest Festival in the church and Supper after in the Village Hall on Sunday 20th September, so keep an eye out for details about that.*

However, on Monday, 14th September at 7.30pm in the Village Hall, Gardening Club is back with a timely reminder that, even if we are still applying sunscreen, we are entering the time of year in the gardening calendar to start planning next year’s beds. Laura Langabeer from The Heritage Seed Farm in Upton Pyne, will be here with a talk called ‘The Heritage Seed Story’. It will cover what heritage seeds are, why they are vital for the future of food security and understanding the difference between F1 hybrids and open-pollinated heritage seeds. There will be the usual refreshments and a raffle. Laura will also bring packets of seeds for sale, with a special GC talk offer, so come prepared! Everyone is welcome to join Coldridge Gardening Club - a family membership is only £15 for the year. Keep an eye out for news of upcoming events on all the usual village channels.
